BIG TRAIL CHALLENGE REGULATION
(updated in 12/10/2023)
1 - PURPOSE OF THE EVENT
The Big Trail Challenge® is organized by "Mundo de Aventuras" (a registered trademark of Lifetouris, Lda., NIF 509993770 and RNAVT 3143). It is an adventure tourism event, not for competitive purposes but, due to its characteristics, will be a challenge of personal improvement. It is intended to lead the Participants to discover the cultural and landscape potential of Morocco in a mixed, road and off-road route.
2 - REGISTRATIONS
2.1. Registrations officially close on the 31st of January 2024;
2.2. The participant fee per registration is € 1.895;
2.3. Entries are limited to 70 participants in motorcycle and this number can be changed by the organization without any previous notice;
2.4. Participation in the event is open exclusively to type motorcycle 'trail' and 'big / maxi trail "with a minimum limit of 600cc displacement and adapted to the use off-road. type motorcycle "Rally Raid", "Enduro" of a cylinder capacity exceeding 600cc or type "Maxi Trail" with engine capacity less than 600cc may participate if previously authorized by the organization;
2.5. Registration is done according to the instructions on the website of the event;
2.6. The registrations are can only be considered accepted after completion and confirmation of the payment with the sending of a proof by e-mail if it is carried out by bank transfer;
2.7. Upon registration and in order to confirm the reservation of their place, the participants must pay 50% of the total amount , paying the remainder until the deadline of January 31st 2024;
2.8. Upon registration, the participant receives a confirmation email from the organisation with information about the payment method available and further instructions.
3 - PARTICIPATION
3.1. Mundo de Aventuras will keep the list of registrants on the event website, constantly updated;
3.2. Participants sign the event's “Terms of Responsibility” relating to their participation, particularly with regard to safety standards, assistance and use of mandatory protective equipment;
3.3. Participants undergo the technical checks indicated below. They took place at stage 0 (zero) in a location to be indicated and at the time of accreditation, with the presence of all participants and their respective motorcycle being mandatory;
3.4. The following documentation is mandatory:
3.4.1. Valid driving license for driving a motorcycle;
3.4.2. Passport with a minimum validity of 6 months after the start of the trip;
3.4.3. Proof of civil liability and motorcycle travel assistance insurance valid for Spain and Morocco (with MA extension on the green card); alternatively, insurance for Morocco can be purchased at the border;
3.4.4. Motorcycle registration document;
3.5. The following motorcycle requirements are inspected at the time of accreditation:
3.5.1. Motorcycle in good working order;
3.5.2. Tires suitable for off road use (minimum 80/20);
3.5.3. GPS navigation system (compatible with the use of GPX files);
3.5.4. Registration;
3.5.5. Front headlight and rear light working;
3.5.6. Left rear view mirror;
3.5.7. Kit of puncture parts suitable for the type of tires used (tubeless or with an inner tube) being dispensed to those who use mousse;
3.6. All participants must equip themselves with the following mandatory equipment:
3.6.1. Off road helmet;
3.6.2. Protective armor for the torso (an alternative permitted is a motorcycle jacket with shoulder, elbow, forearm and back protection);
3.6.3. Enduro or adventure high boots;
3.6.4. Gloves suitable for use on motorcycles;
3.6.5. Off road pants and knee pads (or alternative pants with knee protection);
3.6. Participants whose motorcycles, documentation do not pass technical checks, or who do not have the protective equipment mandatory for participation in the event, will have to make efforts to regularize the situation before the start of the trip, otherwise they will not be able to participate. If the participant does not guarantee the full regularization of the situation, they may be prevented from participating and no refund of the registration fee will be given;
4 - STAGE
4.1. The stages have the characteristics indicated in the website of the event;
4.2. The steps are performed by groupings of participants, who for security reasons must carry out the grouped steps (groups consisting of a minimum of 3 participants and a maximum of 6 participants).
4.3. There are two levels of motorcycle participation, whose description is indicated on the event website.
5 - PATHWAY CONTROLS
5.1. The organization's mechanical assistance team closes the course of the stages starting 5 minutes after the last participant's departure;
5.2. During the stages the organization does not guarantee the participants any assistance when they are outside the GPS track provided;
5.3. The grouping of motorcycles referred to in 4.2 shall be submitted together at the end of each stage.
6 - DESISTENCES
6.1. Mundo de Aventuras will reimburse a variable part of the registration fee to participants who, because of an impedment, can not present themselves at the start of the Big Trail Challenge. The event needs to be communicated to the organization by email within the deadlines defined below and where the amount to be refunded shall be:
- 100% of the registration fee if the notification occurs at 60 or more days before the event start date;
- 50% of the registration fee, if the notification occurs between 30 and 59 days before the event start date;
- No refund if the notification is received at less than 30 days before the event start date
6.2. In case of withdrawal during the stages, due to any eventuality, the participant must inform the Mundo de Aventuras team immediately through the contact numbers distributed;
6.3. Waivers during the event will not be subject to any refund.
7 - COLLECTION OF IMAGES DURING THE EVENT
7.1. During the event, the organisation will carry out photographic and video coverage, providing participants with individual photographs of the participants, the group, or subgroups, of landscapes, towns, villages and other places that are part of the stages carried out. A final video will also be made with images captured during the event.
7.2. Despite the efforts that may be made to capture images of all participants, the organisation does not assume any commitment to capture images of everyone individually, due to the logistical conditions in which the event takes place.
7.3. All participants, by confirming that they are aware of these regulations, authorise the sharing of their images collected during the event, for communication and the event's promotion purposes.
8 - ELIMINATION
8.1. Without refunding the registration fee, Mundo de Aventuras may, during the stages, prevent a participant from continuing the trip, when the participant fails to comply with the recommendations given by a member of the organisation duly identified, or when it jeopardises his safety or other participants;
8.2. The Mundo de Aventuras is sovereign in the resolution of cases not covered by this regulation;
8.3. The present conditions of participation are complemented by the general conditions of participation in force in the World of Adventures - Travel & Expeditions (see here), prevailing the particular conditions on the general ones in case of divergence.
